Sarah Palin: 'I'd Vote For Newt' [Video]

During an appearance with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday, former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin asserted that she would vote for Newt Gingrich if she were a South Carolina voter.

Impressed by Gingrich’s debate performance, Palin seems to view the former Speaker of the House as the strongest remaining challenger to Mitt Romney. Although she stopped short of fully endorsing Gingrich — something that her husband Todd has already done — Palin said that she wants a Gingrich victory in South Carolina for the absurdly ironic reason that Mitt Romney has not been vetted enough to be the nominee.

“If I had to vote in South Carolina, in order to keep things going, I’d vote for Newt, and I would want this to continue…more debates, more vetting of candidates. Because we know that the mistake made in our country four years ago was having a candidate that was not vetted to the degree he should’ve been.

Many Republicans surely agree that not sufficiently vetting every candidate was a huge problem in 2008, but they aren’t thinking of Barack Obama.
